Firefly 5K : Silver Lake
The Firefly 5K is a summer three-race series organized in New Hanover County. The series includes events on May 27 at Halyburton Park, June 24 at Halyburton Park, and July 29 at Long Leaf Park. All races are held on the last Wednesday of the month.
Each race covers a distance of 3.1 Miles. Awards are given to the overall men's and women's winner of each race, and to the overall men's and women's winner across the three-race series. Race winners receive a custom race t-shirt.
Participants who complete all three races are entered into a drawing for free entries to the Seaside Shuffle 5K in October. There is no entry fee for the races. A small donation for the Wilmington Road Runners Scholarship Program is suggested. The July event is followed by a social at The Brewers Kettle.
