About the race
The Firefighter 5K in Atlanta is a city road race held on September 12, 2026, that benefits the Atlanta Fire Rescue Foundation. The event starts and finishes at Atlanta Fire Rescue Station 1, 71 Elliott St SW, Atlanta, GA 30313, and is open to participants ages 8 and older.
The race distance is 5K (ages 8 & older). A short sleeve adidas shirt is included with entry. Entry fees change by registration period: $40 through June 12, 2026; $50 through July 24, 2026; $55 through September 11, 2026; and $65 onsite. Online registration closes the day before the event.
Course rules and timing are specified for safety and accuracy. The 5K has a course time limit of 1 hour and 15 minutes (25 minute per mile pace). For on-course safety, headphones, pets, and wheeled conveyances of any kind, including strollers, roller/inline skates, and bicycles, are not permitted. Timing is provided by a MYLAPS ThinTag on the back of the bib; bibs must be visible, unaltered, pinned in all four corners, and not covered.
Parking is available in nearby public lots; public transportation is encouraged and the start is about a 10 minute walk from Five Points MARTA Station. Awards include overall and masters winners, a top firefighter award, and age group awards by net time for multiple age categories.
