Firecracker Classic Road Race
The Firecracker Classic Road Race takes place in Cotuit, Massachusetts at 10 Lowell Avenue and finishes at Lowell Field. The main road race is an approximately 5K course that runs through the village and is mostly flat.
Event distances include:
- 5K road race, finishes at Lowell Field
- 600 m kids events on the baseball field
Registration and fees are event specific. The Cotuit Firecracker Road Race registration opens April 16, 2026 and closes April 30, 2026 with a fee of $25.00. Kids event registration opens January 26, 2026 and closes July 2, 2026 with a fee of $10.00. Race registration includes two free beers and food at the after party.
Prizes are awarded by overall finish and age category. Overall male and female winners receive Large Cherry Pies from Centerville Pie. First place finishers in each age bracket receive a small cherry pie. Age brackets span 10 and under, 11 to 17, 18 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, 80 to 89, and 90 to 99. Every kids race finisher receives a free ice cream cone from Polar Cave.
Proceeds benefit Barnstable Land Trust, Cotuit Athletic Association, Cape Cod Challenger Club, and Boy Scouts Troop 52. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
