Firecracker 5K & Kid's 1 Mile Fun Run - Waynesboro
The Firecracker 5K & Kid's 1 Mile Fun Run takes place on July 4 in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania. The event starts and finishes at Waynesboro High School on 550 E 2nd Street.
The event includes two separate races:
- 5K Firecracker
- 1 Mile Children's Firecracker, open to ages 12 and under.
All participants in both distances receive a finisher's medal. There is no refund policy; the event is held rain or shine. An awards ceremony is scheduled for 9:00 AM at the Waynesboro Summer Jubilee tent, located across from Waynesboro Hospital.
Packet pickup is available at Waynesboro Area Senior High School on July 3 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM and on race day from 6:15 AM to 7:00 AM.
Registration pricing follows a tiered schedule. Early Bird prices are $10 for the Kids' Fun Run and $20 for the 5K. Prices increase through June and July, with day-of-event registration costing $15 for the kids' run and $40 for the 5K. A cotton T-shirt can be added to a registration for $10.50, with a deadline of June 15.
Awards are presented for the 5K in overall, Masters (40+), and Seniors (60+) categories, as well as in numerous age groups. The kids' run awards the top three male and female finishers in each age group from 6 to 12 years old. Award recipients must be present at the ceremony.
