Firecracker 5K Dallas : event overview
The Firecracker 5K Dallas takes place on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at Katy Trail Ice House, 3127 Routh St, Dallas, TX 75201. The event program includes a timed 5K, a 1 mile fun run and dog walk, and a virtual run.

The 5K and 1 mile fun run are held on the Katy Trail. The 5K course will have water stops at mile 1 and mile 2. The 5K uses disposable timing tags and is chip timed; participants must wear their bib visibly on the front to be counted in results. The 1 mile fun run is not timed and has no awards. Per event rules pets are not allowed on the 5K course; pets are welcome in the 1 mile fun event. Strollers may participate when integrated safely.
Swag and services include a brunch pass with an All American hot dog and beer or mimosa for participants 21 and over who show ID, a Firecracker 5K t shirt, and a finisher medal. Virtual participants receive a t shirt and finisher medal by mail after the event. T shirts are ordered in advance and late registrants may not receive preferred sizes or a shirt.
Packet pickup is available on July 2 and July 3 at Playtri Dallas, Hillside Village Shopping Center, and on race day at the Katy Trail Ice House. The event includes a canine costume contest with prizes and a structured awards program for the 5K across overall, masters and age group categories. Race management may change courses for safety or production reasons. Parking includes 70 valet spots at the venue and additional nearby parking.
