Firecracker 5K Dallas
The event takes place at Katy Trail Ice House in Dallas on July 4, 2026 and includes in-person and virtual options. Distances offered include:
- 5K (chip timed)
- 1 mile fun run and dog walk (not timed)
- Virtual race (shipping within US only)
Registration for the in-person events opens July 6, 2025 and closes January 31, 2026. The virtual race registration closes March 1, 2026. Entry fees are listed by event in the organizer details.
The 5K and 1 mile fun run use the Katy Trail. The 5K course has water stations at mile 1 and mile 2. Per USATF safety rules no pets are allowed on the 5K; pets are welcome in the 1 mile fun event. Strollers may be integrated into the 5K. The minimum age for the 5K is 6; there is no minimum age for the 1 mile event. Use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged for participant safety.
Packet pickup is available in advance at Playtri Dallas and at the race site on race day. The 5K uses disposable timing tags distributed with bibs at packet pickup and requires the bib to be worn visibly on the front. Awards are given for top overall, masters, grand masters, and age group placings in the 5K. The 1 mile fun run is not timed and does not have awards.
Swag includes a t-shirt, finisher medal, and a brunch pass that covers an All American hot dog and a beer or mimosa for participants over 21 with ID. T-shirts are ordered in advance and late registrants may not receive their requested size. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
