Overview
The Firecracker 5K Dallas is a running event held on July 4th, 2026. The main events are a 5K run and a 1 Mile fun run and dog walk. A virtual run option is also available. The event is hosted at the Katy Trail Ice House in the Uptown area of Dallas.
Location and Course
The event is based at the Katy Trail Ice House, an Austin-style beer garden and restaurant located on the Katy Trail. The 5K and 1 Mile courses take place on the Katy Trail. For the 5K, there are water stops at mile 1 and mile 2.
Events and Details
The available events are:
- Firecracker 5K: A chip-timed race. The minimum age to participate is 6 years old. Awards are given for top overall, masters, grand masters, and age group finishers.
- Firecracker 1M Fun Run & Dog Walk: A non-competitive, untimed event. Pets are welcome in this event. There is no minimum age requirement.
- Firecracker Virtual Run: Participants can run on their own and receive items by mail.
Participant Information
Registration includes a finisher medal and an event t-shirt, though shirt availability for late registrants is not guaranteed. A brunch pass is provided, which includes an all-American hot dog and a choice of beer or mimosa for participants over 21. Early packet pickup is available on July 2nd and 3rd at a separate location in Dallas. Race day packet pickup is available on site.
Rules and Safety
For safety, the use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged. Per USATF rules, pets are not allowed on the 5K course, but strollers are permitted. The 1M event welcomes pets. The race management reserves the right to alter the course due to safety or weather concerns. Limited valet parking is available on site.
