Event Overview
The Firecracker 5k is an annual running event held on July 4 at Barnegat High School in New Jersey. Organised by the Barnegat High School Cross Country and Track and Field teams, the event serves as a fundraiser to support these athletic programs. The event features two distinct distances:
- Firecracker 5K
- 400m Fun Run
The Firecracker 5K is a timed event that welcomes runners, walkers, and participants with strollers. Participants who register by the mid-June deadline receive an adult-sized t-shirt. The top three overall male and female finishers receive awards during a ceremony held under the pavilion.
The 400m Fun Run is designed for children aged 10 years and younger. This event consists of one lap around the high school track, and all participants receive finisher ribbons.
Facilities and Logistics
All event parking is located at Barnegat High School. The main event area, including race day registration, bib pick-up, and the awards ceremony, is situated at the pavilion adjacent to the track and turf field. Restrooms are available on-site, located on both sides of the snack stand. While strollers are permitted on the course, pets are not allowed at the event.
