Akron's 4th of July Firecracker : 2026
Akron's 4th of July Firecracker takes place Saturday, July 4, 2026 in Akron, IN at Akron Elementary School. The event is sponsored by Akron Las Donas Club and includes multiple running and walking options.

Registration fees and deadlines are published for each distance. For the 5K Run and 5K Walk, pre registration is $20 through 6/28 at 11:59 PM EDT; late registration is $25 from 6/28 at 11:59 PM EDT through 7/1 at 11:59 PM EDT. The 1 Mile Fun Run registration is $10 through 7/1 at 11:59 PM EDT. Day of registration is available from 7:00 to 7:45 on the day of the event; the day of fee for 5K late registration is $25.
The cutoff for day of registration is strictly 7:45 a.m. Participants who arrive after that time may still take part but will not be chipped and timed.
