Firecracker 5K: America’s 250 Birthday Run
The Firecracker 5K: America’s 250 Birthday Run takes place on July 4, 2026 at Legacy Park in Norman, Oklahoma. The event comprises two options: the Firecracker 5K: Big Birthday Run and the Star‑Spangled Stroll, presented as part of the Norman Parks & Rec Run Series (Race #1).
The race supports Meals on Wheels Norman as a charity partner. Youth and adult age group awards are listed for the event. Registration for the 5K includes a customized race bib with a timing tag, and the event offers a one time only commemorative 16 oz metal color changing finisher cup. An add on race t shirt is available while sizes and quantities last. Finish line activities are included.
Packet pickup is available before race week at Beanstalk Coffee & Sno, 3408 36th Ave NW, Norman, and race day pickup will be offered on site starting one hour before the race. The organizer provides multiple series races throughout the year as part of the Norman Parks & Rec Run Series, including themed events in March, May, October, and December.
