Firecracker 4K
The Firecracker 4K is the 22nd annual run/walk held as part of the Central Pa 4thFest on July 4, 2026. The event takes place on the Penn State main campus in University Park, Pennsylvania, with the course starting near Beaver Stadium on the east side of campus.
The event distance is 4K. Registration is handled online and a limited number of race T-shirts and timing bibs (limit 1000) are guaranteed to registrants who register during the early signup period, which ends June 24. The listed registration fee is $20.26. Day of race registration is available at the mezzanine inside the Medlar Field baseball stadium on the east side of campus.
Awards are offered for top overall male and female and for the top three male and female finishers in the following age categories: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-18, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Post-race refreshments will be provided and the course includes a mid-route water station. All proceeds from the race support 4thFest activities.
