Firebolt 5K and Race of 100 Harrys : Staunton, VA

Blue Ridge CASA for Children presents an event with both in person and virtual participation options at Gypsy Hill Park, 600 Churchville Avenue, Staunton, VA. The event includes a paved 5K loop in Gypsy Hill Park and a short youth race called the Race of 100 Harrys that covers about half a mile.

In person participants will receive a Luna Lovegood inspired race tee in a single event color and house color bibs. The Race of 100 Harrys finishers receive a Luna inspired medal and a child sized t shirt; that youth entry also includes a lightning bolt temporary tattoo. A timed race only option is available for in person runners; that option includes a bib and professional chip timing but does not include a t shirt or medal. Virtual participants receive a t shirt and finisher medal by mail and may submit their run or walk result by the event date for house scoring.

Event features at Gypsy Hill Park and nearby festival activities include free mini train rides, a 9 and 3 quarter platform photo opportunity, complimentary duck and fish food while supplies last, and additional festival vendors and activities in downtown Staunton a short walk from the park. The event is planned to proceed rain or shine; if unsafe weather prevents the event, medals will be available for pickup at the organizer office on race day.
