Event overview
The Fire Tower Trail Races take place on October 3, 2026 at St. Croix State Park near Hinckley, Minnesota. Registration opens March 1, 2026. The event is part of the UMTR race series. Distances offered include:
- 100K
- 50K
- 35K
- 11K
The 50K and 100K routes include a climb to the top of a historic fire tower during the run; the 100K includes that climb twice. A "vertigo option" is available for participants who cannot climb the tower fully.
Course and features
The routes run through forests, along rivers, and across prairie in the Kettle River valley. The event uses a flat course and has generous cut offs. On-site provisions include food and camping.
