The Fire Tower Trail Races take place on October 3, 2026, at St. Croix State Park near Hinckley, Minnesota. The event is part of the Upper Midwest Trail Runners (UMTR) race series. Registration opens March 1, 2026. The races offer four official distances:
- 100K
- 50K
- 35K
- 11K
Course and services
The course runs through forests, along rivers, and across prairie in the Kettle River valley inside Minnesota’s largest state park. Organizers describe the route as flat and note generous cutoff times. The 50K and 100K routes include a climb to the top of a historic fire tower mid-run; the 100K includes that climb twice. A "vertigo option" is available for participants who cannot climb the tower fully. Event services listed include food and camping at the race headquarters.
