Finish Line Frolic
Finish Line Frolic is a traffic-free, looped trail event at Belchamps Camp in Hockley that raises funds for the Finish Line Fund charity. The charity was established in 2014 and became a registered charity in 2018 (charity number 1179170). Toilets are located in Belchamps Park and there is ample on-site parking.
The course is a shade over 5 km per lap and entrants may run as many or as few laps as they wish within a six hour time limit. The event specifies lap counts for common distances and also operates a timed format where the clock is the only limit.
Distances available:
- 10 km event
- Half marathon: 4 laps
- Marathon: 8 laps
- 6 hour timed event: as many laps as possible in six hours
An aid station is provided at the end of every lap. Runners may leave a bag with personal items at the aid station. Typical refreshments include flapjacks, fruit and nuts, plus water and squash. This is a cupless event; runners must provide their own drinking receptacle such as a reusable cup or soft flask. A Hydrapak Speedcup is available to purchase as an optional receptacle.
The event holds relevant race permits and qualification status. Organisers request that visitors use the provided bins at the end of each lap and avoid littering. Note that Mount Bovers Lane is unsuitable for motor vehicles; follow the sign off Main Road into Poplars Avenue, then Woodside Chase and Holyoak Lane. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
