Event overview
Finish Line Frolic is a timed, looped trail running event at Belchamps Camp, Holyoak Lane, Hockley (Next Race: 26/07/2026). The course is traffic-free and each loop is a shade over 5 km. Participants may run as many or as few laps as they wish within a 6-hour time limit. To cover common distances participants must complete:
- ~5 km per lap
- 4 laps for a half marathon
- 8 laps for a full marathon
The event raises funds for the Finish Line Fund, a charity established in 2014 and registered in 2018 (charity number 1179170). The charity provides grants to people affected by serious injury, disability or death while running, and supports amateur running and other sports in Southend-on-Sea and surrounding areas through events, equipment and sponsorship.
Facilities and location
An aid station is available at the end of every lap. Food offered includes flapjacks, fruit and nuts, plus water and squash. Runners may leave a personal bag with the aid station for their own supplies. This is a CUPLESS event - participants must bring their own reusable vessel or soft flask for drinks; Hydrapak Speedcups are available to purchase as an option.
There is ample on-site parking and toilets in Belchamps Park. Sat nav users should not use Mount Bovers Lane; instead follow the sign off Main Road into Poplars Avenue, turn left into Woodside Chase and right into Holyoak Lane. The event is UKA affiliated, holds a TRA race permit, and is a 100 Club qualifying event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
