Finish Line Frolic
Finish Line Frolic is a fundraising running event held at Belchamps Camp, Holyoak Lane, Hockley SS5 4JD. It supports the Finish Line Fund, a charity established in 2014 and registered in 2018 (charity number 1179170) that promotes running and amateur sport in East Essex by organising events and providing equipment and sponsorship to local clubs.
The event uses a traffic free, looped trail course. Each loop is a shade over 5 km. Participants may complete as many or as few laps as they wish within a six hour time limit; four laps equal a half marathon and eight laps equal a full marathon.
Available race options include:
- 10 km
- Half Marathon - 4 laps
- Marathon - 8 laps
- 6 hour timed event - unlimited laps within time limit
There is an aid station at the end of every lap. Runners may leave a personal bag at the aid station and help themselves during the event. Typical refreshments listed include flapjacks, fruit, nuts, water and squash. The event operates a cupless policy to reduce plastic waste, so participants must provide their own receptacle. A Hydrapak Speedcup option is available for purchase.
The event is UKA affiliated, holds a TRA race permit and is a 100 Club qualifying event. Facilities include on-site parking and toilets located in Belchamps Park. Competitors are asked to avoid littering and to follow the specified access route rather than using Mount Bovers Lane. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
