Findley Lake Triathlon Festival
The Findley Lake Triathlon Festival takes place in the lakeside community of Findley Lake, New York, at 2334 Sunnyside Road. The site is just off I-86, about two hours south of Buffalo and roughly 20 minutes from Erie, Pennsylvania.
The event program includes Sprint and Olympic triathlons plus corresponding aqua bike divisions. Sprint distances include a 750 m swim in Findley Lake, a 14.44 mile hilly bike course, and a 5K run along a flat roadway that follows the lake shore. Olympic participants complete two loops of the swim and bike courses and a 10K run with a lakeside turnaround. Aqua bike competitors complete the swim and bike portions only. Paratriathletes are welcome.
A Double Findley option combines the Sprint and the Olympic distances and requires completing the Sprint before starting the Olympic portion. Relay teams of two or three may compete in the Sprint or Olympic triathlon events only. There are no cut-off times for any event. The organizer notes an FAQs section about bringing dogs to the race.
