Event overview

The Fighter 5k is set for 17 May 2026 at Great Massingham Airfield, PE32 2EY, in Norfolk. The event is a single-distance running race of 5 km. Registration is not available on the day. Entries are non-refundable and non-deferable; transfers to another runner are allowed until 09/05/2026.

Course and race rules

The course is a single lap that uses the airfield perimeter track and runways. The surface is fully run-able concrete and the course is officially measured and licenced by England Athletics (permit 30541, course number 24/515). Chip timing is used for results. No recce runs are permitted because the course is on private land. Drones are not allowed. The event is not suitable for wheelchair racers.

Prizes, charity and other details

Cash prizes are awarded to the top three male and female finishers: 1st £40, 2nd £20, 3rd £10. A £50 bonus is offered for a new male or female course record; this bonus rolls over until a maximum of £250 if not claimed. Age group winners gain free entry to the following year in categories U17, Senior, V35, V40, V45, V50, V55, V60 and V65+. All finishers receive a sew-on military-style patch and refreshments. The race raises funds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance and the Purfleet Pantry; £500 was raised in 2025 and the event aims to raise £750 for 2026.
