Fighter 5k
West Norfolk Athletic Club presents a flat 5K single-lap race at Great Massingham Airfield on 17 May 2026. The event takes place on the former RAF airfield with permission from Leicester House Farm and is organised by volunteers.
The course uses the perimeter track and runways and has a fully run-able concrete surface. The course is officially measured, course number 24/515, and the event holds an England Athletics permit 30541. Chip timing provides on the spot results for finishers.
Access is via the carpark on the old main runway with directions from King’s Lynn or Fakenham and What3Words ///flop.bombshell.cards. The airfield is private land so no recce runs are permitted. Drones are not allowed. The race is not suitable for wheelchair racers. Dogs are allowed with spectators but may not accompany runners. Participants and spectators are asked to keep the airfield clean.
Prizes include cash for the top three male and female finishers, 1st £40, 2nd £20, 3rd £10, and a £50 course record bonus that can roll over to a maximum of £250. Age group winners receive free entry to the following year across listed categories. All finishers receive a sew on military style patch and post race refreshments. The event raises money for the East Anglian Air Ambulance and the Purfleet Pantry, having raised £500 in 2025 and aiming for £750 in 2026. Sportlink GP and Sportlink TV will be present with spot prizes and giveaways.
Entries are non refundable and cannot be deferred. Transfers to another runner are permitted until midnight on 09/05/2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
