Event Overview
The Fetch 5K, also known as the Annual Dog Jog, takes place at The Boneyard Dog Park and Biergarten in Madison. This event celebrates the rescue of more than 4,500 dogs and supports ongoing animal rescue efforts. The gathering features activities for both humans and their canine companions on a paved course.
Participants can choose from the following distances:
- 5K walk/run
- 1 Mile Fun Walk
- 1 Mile Kids Fun Walk
Course and Timing
The 5K is a chip-timed event with electronic scoring provided. Participants are permitted to walk the 5K course but are asked to stay to the right to allow runners to pass. The environment includes both on-leash areas and specific off-leash zones. For safety reasons, strollers, baby joggers, rollerblades, skateboards, bikes, and scooters are not permitted on the course.
Participation Details
Dogs are welcome to participate in the run or walk if they are registered and meet specific health requirements. Canine attendees must be at least four months old and up to date on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella vaccinations. Leashes are required at all times, with a maximum length of six feet; retractable leads are not allowed.
Post-Race Activities
The event includes a post-race celebration to mark 12 years of rescue work. This party features live music, food, beer, and a raffle. Registered participants receive a swag bag and a drink ticket. While children of all ages may attend the party in the on-leash and indoor areas, they must be at least 15 years old to enter the designated off-leash zones.
