Fernie Fun Run
The Fernie Fun Run is a community fundraising event held on June 20, 2026 at Annex Park. It offers short routes with a low-pressure atmosphere focused on outdoor activity and community gathering.
Distances offered:
- 5KM route for runners and walkers
- 2KM family-friendly route suitable for children and walkers
Both routes start and finish at Annex Park and follow the Elk River with a return along the dyke trail. A finish-line celebration includes a BBQ and a community picnic. Prizes are awarded.
Entry fees are listed as 5KM $35; 2KM adults and those aged 12 and over $15; 2KM children 11 and under with an adult $7. There is no official timing, though participants may time themselves.
Strollers are welcome. Dogs are not permitted for insurance and participant comfort. Other wheeled transport such as bikes and scooters should not be brought. Proceeds for the 2026 event support the Elk Valley Field House Society. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
