Fernie Fun Run - description
Fernie Fun Run is a community summer event taking place on June 20, 2026 at Annex Park. Routes run alongside the Elk River and return along the dyke trail to the finish area and post-event gathering.
The event is non-timed and presented as low pressure. Strollers are welcome; dogs and other wheeled transport such as bikes and scooters are not allowed. In the case of light rain the event will proceed, but an extreme downpour would prompt rescheduling.
A post-run BBQ and community picnic follow the finish, and prizes will be awarded. Proceeds support the Elk Valley Field House Society; the annual community partner will be announced. The event is organized by Fernie Strength Collective and Knee Deep Fitness.
Distances and entry fees
- 5 km - entry fee $35
- 2 km family-friendly option - adults and 12+ $15
- 2 km children 11 and under with an adult $7
Registration fact: register by April 30 to receive a Fernie Fun Run t-shirt with the 5 km entry. No timing or performance requirements apply. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
