Fernie Fun Run
The Fernie Fun Run is a community summer kick-off event taking place on June 20, 2026 at Annex Park. Both routes start and finish in Annex Park and follow the Elk River and the dyke trail.
Distance options:
- 5KM route for runners and walkers
- 2KM family-friendly route suitable for children and those wanting a shorter distance
Entry fees are listed by category: 5KM $35, 2KM adults and children 12+ $15, 2KM children 11 and under with an adult $7. Proceeds from the event support a local cause; the community partner for the year will be announced.
The event is described as low-pressure and inclusive. There is no official timing, though participants may time themselves if they wish. Strollers are welcome. For safety and insurance reasons, dogs are not permitted and other wheeled transport such as bikes and scooters should be left at home. A post-run barbecue and community picnic follow the finish, and prizes are part of the program.
