Elk Valley Ultra - Fernie, BC
Elk Valley Ultra is a mountain trail race organized by Stag Leap Running Co in Fernie, BC. The main event covers approximately 50 km with about 2,700 m of ascent and follows a mix of single track and old rail trails through local provincial park sections.
The route is described in three legs: an initial ascent over Mt. Fernie and Rocky Road to Island Lake Lodge followed by Old Growth Forest; a middle section along the old Rail Trail and up through Gorby on loamy Provincial Park trails; and a final climb across the front of Mt. Fernie before a steep descent to the finish. The course is subject to change based on land use permissions. A GPX file is provided for the route.

- 50K - 50 km, 2,700 m ascent, start/finish James White Park
- Headwall Hustle 15K - 15 km, 840 m ascent, start/finish Fernie Alpine Resort
- Combo - entry for both events on consecutive days
The event limits entrants to 200 racers and includes categories Male, Female and Non‑Binary with age groups <19, 19-49 and 50+. Youth under 19 wishing to race the 50 km must contact the Race Director before registering. Entry benefits listed include a race shirt, fully stocked aid stations, finish line food and beverage, finishers medals, free race photos and a donation to the Fernie Trails Alliance.
