Elk Valley Ultra - Fernie, BC
The Elk Valley Ultra returns for its 6th year in Fernie, British Columbia. The event features a high-vertical trail ultra of 50 km and an optional combo adding a 15 km race the following day.

- 50 km, 3,000 m ascent, Start/Finish James White Park
- 15 km, 840 m ascent, Start/Finish Fernie Alpine Resort
The 50 km route is described in three legs: Leg 1 climbs over Mt. Fernie to Rocky Road, down to Island Lake Lodge and through Old Growth Forest; Leg 2 follows the old Rail Trail, climbs Gorby and passes loamy provincial park trails; Leg 3 includes a climb across the front of Mt. Fernie with a steep descent to the finish. Route is subject to change based on land use permissions.
The 50 km field is limited to 200 racers and includes Male, Female and Non-Binary categories with age groups <19, 19-49 and 50+. Youth under 19 must contact the Race Director before registering for the 50 km. Registration closes July 15.
Included services and amenities listed for racers are fully stocked aid stations, free racer photo downloads, finish-line barbecue and beer, finisher medals and top-3 trophies, and a race shirt supplied by the presenting sponsor.
