The Feet for the Street 5K & 7 Miler takes place Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Salem Lake Greenway, 1001 Salem Lake Road, Winston-Salem, NC. The event includes in-person and virtual options:

The event is organized as separate 5K and 7 Miler races with virtual alternatives.
Course and awards
The 5K starts and finishes on the Salem Lake trail beside the playground, parking lot and restroom facilities at the main lake entrance. The 7 Miler follows the loop that circles Salem Lake, with the same start/finish location as the 5K. Custom finisher medals are available for all participants. Awards include cash prizes for the top three male and female finishers in the 7 Miler and Fleet Feet gift cards for the top three male and female finishers in the 5K. Age-group first-place winners receive a $20 Fleet Feet gift card. Awards are handed out immediately after the races.
Purpose and logistics
The event raises awareness and financial support for the Winston-Salem Street School, a private nonprofit alternative educational option for at-risk high school students in Forsyth County. Over the last 21 years, nearly 400 students have graduated from the Street School and received an accredited high school diploma. Packet pickup is available the day before at the Winston-Salem Street School and on race morning at the Salem Lake check-in area. Sponsors include local organizations such as Lewisville Laser, Fleet Feet, Truliant Federal Credit Union and others. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
