The Feet for the Street event takes place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at Salem Lake Greenway, 1001 Salem Lake Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107. The event includes in-person and virtual options and offers two race distances.

- 7 Miler
In-person entry fees listed are $30 for the 5K and $40 for the 7 Miler. Virtual entry fees listed are $25 for the virtual 5K and $35 for the virtual 7 Miler. Packet pick-up is offered on the Friday before the race at the Winston-Salem Street School and on race morning at the Salem Lake playground check-in area.
Course, awards and purpose
The 5K starts and finishes on the Salem Lake trail beside the playground, parking lot and restrooms at the lake main entrance. The 7 Miler follows the loop around Salem Lake with the same start and finish location. Custom finisher medals are available for all participants. Awards include overall top three male and female finishers in the 5K and 7 Miler, with cash prizes for the 7 Miler (1st $200, 2nd $100, 3rd $50) and Fleet Feet gift card prizes for the 5K (1st $100, 2nd $75, 3rd $50). First place in each age group receives a $20 Fleet Feet gift card; age groups span 14 and under through 80 and over. The event raises awareness and financial support for the Winston-Salem Street School, a nonprofit alternative high school program in Forsyth County.
