FeedTheKids 3K - Wellington Park, Lexington, KY
The FeedTheKids 3K is a charity run/walk held on September 19, 2026, at Wellington Park in Lexington. Proceeds support the Dahlhus Fund, a nonprofit effort to pay off student lunch debts for Fayette County Public School students.
The main event is a chip-timed 3K on paved park trails. Awards are given to the Top 3 male and female overall finishers and the Top 3 male and female finishers in five-year age groups. Participants receive a commemorative race T-shirt while supplies last. Free race photos and a finish-line photo contest are part of the event. A post-race celebration will take place at Mirror Twin Brewing where bib holders aged 21 and older may receive a complimentary beer.
Additional offerings include a free Kid's Dash for children age 7 and under with a participation medal, a virtual runner/walker option with mailed race T-shirt, and volunteer opportunities; volunteers receive fudge and a commemorative T-shirt.
Charity context noted by the organizers includes that one in four public school students in the Commonwealth experience food insecurity, Fayette County student lunch debt exceeded $35,000 during the 2024-25 school year, and the Dahlhus Fund has issued a $13,000 grant toward that debt.
