FCEF Run for the Schools 5K and 1 Mile
The event at Cherry Hill Park in Falls Church includes a USATF Certified 5K course and an untimed 1 mile loop. The 5K route winds through tree-lined streets of Falls Church City and features a mix of hills and flat stretches. One water stop is available along the course. Strollers are welcome; bicycles, skateboards, rollerblades and dogs are not permitted. All participants receive a race shirt and additional promotional items.

Registration is online only. Standard fees are $40 for participants 19 and over and $20 for participants 18 and under. FCCPS staff members have designated events with a $20 registration fee. Online registration remains open through race morning.
Packet pick up is offered on Friday, September 18 at Meridian High School, on Saturday at Meridian High School and at the Falls Church Fall Festival, and packets are also available on race morning at the race site.
Awards are given to the top male and female 5K finishers overall and to top male and female finishers in these age categories: 1-8, 9-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 and over.
Proceeds benefit the Falls Church Education Foundation and all Falls Church City Public Schools, supporting at-risk families, advanced teacher training and classroom innovation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
