Father's Day Run for Rotary - Clayton (Cancelled for 2026)
The Father's Day Run for Rotary, scheduled for Clayton/Concord, is cancelled for 2026. When held, the event is based at Newhall Park (1351 Newhall Pkwy, Concord, CA) and uses a looping course that begins and ends near the playground.
The event format includes multiple distances:
- 5K
- 400 m for children age 7 and under (free)
Age-group awards in the form of medals are given to the top three finishers in each age group. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners who pre-register by the cutoff date of 6/6/26; additional shirts may be available on race day on a first-come, first-served basis. The 5K had a registration fee of $35 and the kid's 400 m was free.
Packet pickup is handled off-site at Sports Basement in Walnut Creek the day before the race, with an option to collect race packets on the event day. During packet pickup at Sports Basement, registrants can receive a 20% discount on purchases.
Registration fees support the Clayton Valley/Concord Sunrise Rotary Club and the parent-faculty committees for Mount Diablo Elementary and Diablo View Middle School. The hosting Rotary club also engages in local and international community projects such as youth camps, library donations, park and trail maintenance, health and vision programs, and international village partnerships.
