Father's Day Race 5K Run/Walk : Shreveport, LA
The Father's Day Race 5K Run/Walk is the seventh annual community event held at Southern Hills Park in Shreveport, LA on June 13, 2026. The event offers three participation options: a 5K Run/Walk, a 5K for kids age 5 to 19, and a Sleep-In Supporter entry. The event is open to both fathers and mothers and is intended for whole family participation.
The organizer, On a Mission LLC, uses the event to raise funds for families experiencing homelessness and to provide scholarships for single fathers in college. After the 5K there will be food and drinks plus activities that include horseback riding and snow cones.
Strollers, wagons, baby joggers, and any hand-pushed or pulled vehicle are permitted on the course but must start at the back of the field. Race shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before May 30. Packet pickup is available at RUN WILD next to Silver Star Grill in the Ellerbe Road shopping center on Thursday June 11 from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Friday June 12 from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm, with additional pickup at the race site.
Awards include trophies for overall male and female winners and awards for first and second place in each age group. Age divisions are 11 and under, 12 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, and 60 plus. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
