36th Father's Day 5K Run
The Father's Day 5K Run is a long-standing athletic event in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. This year marks the 36th edition of the competition, which serves as a fundraiser for local youth cross country programs and food assistance initiatives. The event is part of both the Seashore Strider Summer Championship Series and the Triple Crown Series.
The course is designed as a flat and fast loop starting at Rehoboth Avenue and the boardwalk. Participants travel toward North Shores, reaching a turnaround point at the entrance to Gordon’s Pond before returning to the bandstand. The race utilizes electronic chip timing for accurate results.
Available distances and categories include:
- 5 km run
- 3.1 mile walk
The walking division follows specific criteria requiring competitors to maintain ground contact at all times. Participants who complete multiple events within the series may qualify for additional awards. A post-race ceremony is held at the bandstand, followed by a gathering with light refreshments at a nearby local venue. Registered participants receive a custom t-shirt and are eligible for various age group awards ranging from under 9 to over 80 years old.
