Event
The NYCRUNS Father's Day 5K takes place in Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York. It is a 5K race that is USATF-certified.
Course & Location
The course runs through Flushing Meadows Corona Park, one of New York City's largest outdoor public spaces. The route passes historic sites from the 1964 World's Fair, including the Unisphere, and finishes by the Fountain of the Planets. The course is not recommended for handcycle or wheelchair athletes due to a high number of turns.
Registration & Pricing
There are several pricing tiers, with early bird pricing for members and non-members. NYCRUNS members receive a discount and benefits like race credit for withdrawals. Race day registration, if available, is online only.
Event Details
Bib pickup and the festival area for pre- and post-race activities are located together. An official race tech shirt is given away, but sizes are not guaranteed and shirts are only available for pickup on race day. Refreshments after the race include bagels, pretzels, and apples. Water is available on the course, with water and Gatorade at the finish.
Awards
Awards are given to the top three overall male, female, and non-binary runners. Age group awards are also presented.
Transportation
Mass transit is recommended. The 7 train or LIRR to Mets-Willets Point Station is followed by a short walk on a boardwalk overpass to the festival area. Parking is limited.
Policies
Strollers and dogs are not allowed. Headphones or earbuds that hinder awareness may lead to disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
