Event overview
The 2026 Father’s Day Dream event takes place on June 21, 2026 at Wheaton Regional Park in Silver Spring, Maryland. The event includes the following distances:
- 5k
- 10k
Points from these races count toward the organizer’s Year-Long 5k, 10k and Back of the Pack Series and toward the Spring Series. A virtual race option is available for participants who cannot attend in person.
Race details
The course is paved for a majority of the route with rolling hills and some short sections of trail and gravel. The 5k is one loop and the 10k is two loops. The event is chip timed. Registered runners receive a finisher medal and a technical (Dri-FIT) event shirt; shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed before June 10.
Water stations are provided: two on the 5k (around miles 1.3 and 2) and five on the 10k (around miles 1.3, 2, 3.1, 4.4, and 5.1); Gatorade will be available at some stations. Live results will be posted on Athlinks and a QR code will be available at the race; final results with series points are posted the Monday after the race.
Awards are given to the top three men and top three women overall. Age-group awards are given 1st and 2nd in these categories: 19 & under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+. Packet pickup is available at the event and race day registration is offered. Registration fees increase on race morning. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
