Blue Crab Bolt at Seneca Creek
The Blue Crab Bolt at Seneca Creek is a trail running event held on Saturday June 27, 2026, at Seneca Creek State Park in Gaithersburg, MD. The race uses singletrack hiking trails that pass lake views and scenic streams and is staged from the park expo field with grass overflow and adjacent paved parking areas.
Course options and measured distances:
- 5K-ish (3.3 miles), elevation gain 200 feet
- 10K-ish (6.6 miles), elevation gain 450 feet
On-course support includes aid stations and medical support. Bathrooms are available via porta-johns and park restrooms at the start and finish. Post-race food is provided and includes breakfast burritos and other items. Race swag for this stop is a tri-blend t-shirt and race medals are available as an optional add-on for a fee. Racers who complete all three races in the series receive a special series medal at no cost.
Race rules require visible race numbers worn on the front, no in-ear headphones, no pets, no pacers, and no baby strollers on course. Participants must stay on designated trails and notify officials if they drop out. Age categories include Male, Female, and Non-Binary divisions across multiple age bands.
