Event Overview
The Father's Day 10k is part of an event that includes 5k, 10k, and 1 mile distances. It takes place in Old Mill Park in historic Fredericksburg, Virginia. The route is a paved path that runs alongside the Rappahannock River.
Race Details
Participants receive a finisher's medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing. The race benefits the national nonprofit Wear blue: run to remember, which honors the service and sacrifice of the American military. Race results will be posted live on Athlinks.com and a QR code will be available at the event.
Course and Logistics
The 10k course is the 5k route run twice and is described as out-and-back. The path has a few small hills. Five water stations are planned for the 10k course, with Gatorade at some. Restrooms are located near the parking lot. Walkers and strollers are welcome. A virtual run option is available.
Awards and Series
Awards are given for the top 3 men and women overall, as well as 1st and 2nd place in standard age groups from 19 & Under to 70+. The event is part of the organizer's Year-Long and Spring Series, with points counting towards these standings. There is also a "Back of the Pack" series for participants with slower paces.
Registration and Packet Pickup
Registration fees increase after May 31st. T-shirts are guaranteed for registrations before June 10th. Race-day registration is available, with a price increase. Packet pickup is at the event, and participants are advised to arrive one hour before their start time. Parking is available within Old Mill Park.
