About the race
The Kaiser Permanente Thrive Half Marathon & 5K returns for its 10th year on November 14, 2026 in San Diego. All courses start and finish at Ski Beach in Mission Bay and use loop routes around Mission Bay and Crown Point.
Race offerings include a 13.1 mile half marathon and a 3.1 mile 5K, plus relay and virtual options. The half marathon follows a loop that begins on Ingraham Street, runs along Mission Bay, and finishes at Ski Beach. The 5K is a scenic loop along Crown Point. The half marathon relay is a two person event with an exchange at Telecote Shores; each runner covers approximately half the distance.
Charity entries are available with a fundraising commitment of $250 toward Make-A-Wish San Diego; meeting the commitment provides a free charity entry, otherwise the difference must be fulfilled or a regular entry purchased. Virtual options allow participants to complete their distance during race week and post results to a virtual leaderboard.
Standard race inclusions listed for participants are an official Thrive short sleeve tech tee, racer bib, a finisher medal unique to each distance, chip race timing, live finish results and rankings, awards by overall and age group, and access to the Thrive Expo.
