Fat Dog Backyard Ultra : Abbotsford, BC
Fat Dog Backyard Ultra follows the certified Backyard Ultra format. Participants complete a 6.7056 km (4.167 miles) lap every hour, starting on the hour, and continue until they fail to finish a lap within the time limit or do not start the next lap. The last person remaining is declared the winner; all others are recorded as DNF.
The course uses the parking area at Abbotsford Exhibition Park for start/finish staging and links to the Discovery Trail and trails around Clearbrook Park. Surfaces include paved sections, hard-packed gravel and dirt; there is no running on roads. The course is open to the public on race day.
As a Backyard Ultra Bronze Ticket event, participants could earn a spot at a BC Silver Ticket event or be placed on the At Large list for consideration for Team Canada at the 2026 National Satellite Championships. Winners of Silver Ticket events receive automatic entry to Team Canada at the 2026 National Championships.
The 2026 race date is March 14, 2026. The 2026 event is sold out. Registration was CAD 175 plus GST and UltraSignup fees, with a minimum age of 18. Registration was capped at 150 participants; there are no refunds, transfers, deferrals or waitlists. Live lap updates will be posted as laps are completed.
