Event overview
Fat Dog Backyard Ultra takes place in Abbotsford, BC on March 14, 2026. The race follows the certified Backyard Ultra format: runners complete repeated laps of 6.7056 km (4.167 miles) and must finish each lap within the set time limit to continue. The event continues round by round until only one competitor completes the required lap; that competitor is declared the winner and all others are recorded as DNF. The format lets each participant choose their lap pace and rest strategy between laps. As a Backyard Ultra Bronze Ticket event, participants can earn qualification opportunities for BC Silver Ticket events or a place on the "At Large List" for consideration for Team Canada at the National Satellite Championships in 2026.
