Fat Boy NOLA Run/Walk

The Fat Boy NOLA is an unconventional athletic event held at Lafreniere Park in Metairie, Louisiana. The race departs from traditional age group classifications, instead utilizing weight-based divisions for its competitive structure. Participants can choose between several distance and novelty options:

  • 5 km run or walk
  • Kids Dash
  • 0.0 Mile World Championship
  • 26.2 Foot Marathon

The event also includes a Clydesdale Team Division, where the combined weight of team members must reach at least 650 pounds. Awards are presented to the first and second-place finishers in various weight brackets for both men and women. Teams are also recognized for categories such as largest group, best costumes, and most spirited.

Registered participants receive a chip-timed experience, a sleeveless poly-cotton tank top, and a custom finisher medal. Commemorative ribbons are provided for those completing the novelty short-distance challenges. The post-race program features a donut-eating contest and refreshments. This event supports the Dawn Busters Kiwanis Club - Rewards for Reading Program. Packet pickup is available at a local running store in the days preceding the event or at the race site on the morning of the competition. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
