Fat Boy NOLA 5k
The Fat Boy NOLA 5K is scheduled for May 17, 2026 at Lafreniere Park in Metairie, Louisiana. The main event is a chip-timed 5K run/walk held as an all-weight division race where participants select a weight division instead of an age group. Awards are presented for first and second place in each weight division, with separate male and female categories and a Clydesdale team division judged for trophies.
The event program includes a kids dash, a novelty 0.0 Mile World Championship, a 26.2 Foot Marathon, and a donut eating contest. Commemorative ribbons are given to those who complete the novelty distances. All participants receive a sleeveless poly-cotton tank top style shirt, a custom finisher medal, and post-race refreshments. Entry fees are non-refundable.
Packet pickup is available the Thursday before the event at Fleet Feet Metairie, with additional pickup at the race site on race day. Online registration closes May 16. Youth (ages 0-14) and seniors (65 and up) receive a $7 discounted entry. The event benefits the Dawn Busters Kiwanis Club Rewards for Reading Program.
