Event information
The Fast & Furious 5K swim takes place on Saturday, May 2, 2026 in Norristown, PA. The event is organized by French Creek Racing and uses the Schuylkill River corridor near Catfish Dam. Distances offered include:
- 5K swim
- 1.5 mile swim
- 1K fun swim
- SwimRun (1.5 mile swim, 1.5 mile run)
The 1K Fun Swim is an untimed event and will not have awards. The 1.5 mile swim and the SwimRun are listed as untimed events. The 5K course begins with about 3/4 mile upstream, then continues downstream to the finish.
Logistics and rules
All swims start at 1400 S. Trooper Rd., Norristown, PA. The 1K finish is at 93 W. Indian Lane in Port Indian; the downstream finishes, including the 1.5 mile and 5K, end at 1 E. Indian Lane in Port Indian. Participants must provide their own return transportation to the starting area; transportation may be available for an additional fee.
Safety requirements: each swimmer must have a personal kayaker or wear a New Wave Swim Buoy (or equivalent). Wetsuits are permitted if the water temperature is below 68 degrees Fahrenheit. One small bag may be left at the starting line; organizers are not responsible for lost items. There are no refunds; a rain date is Sunday, May 3, and cancelled entries may be deferred to a future event. Custom awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in each race.
