Events
The Fast & Furious 5K includes several open water swimming and SwimRun events. The events are:
- Fast and Furious 5K Swim
- 1.5 Mile Swim; untimed
- SwimRun (1.5 mile swim, 1.5 mile run); untimed
- 1K Fun Swim, untimed
Location and Course
All events start at 1400 S. Trooper Rd. in Norristown, Pennsylvania. The 5K Swim begins with a 3/4 mile upstream section before finishing downstream at 1 E. Indian Lane in Port Indian. The 1.5 Mile Swim and the swim leg of the SwimRun are entirely downstream, finishing at 1 E. Indian Lane. The 1K Fun Swim passes through Catfish Dam and finishes at 93 W. Indian Lane in Port Indian.
All swimmers must either have their own kayaker or wear a New Wave Swim Buoy (or equivalent). A small bag with personal items can be left at the start line. Participants are responsible for their own transportation back to the start area, though a service is available for an additional fee.
Logistics
Parking is at 1400 S. Trooper Rd. A finish time cutoff is set at 12:00 PM. An awards ceremony is scheduled for the following day. The event has a no-refund policy. A rain date is set for Sunday, May 3. In case of cancellation, entries can be deferred to the following year or another event by the organizer.
There are no restrooms at the start line, but they are available at the finish lines. The event may be postponed due to lightning or poor water quality from stormwater runoff. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
