The Fast & The Furriest
The Fast & The Furriest is the 20th annual pet-focused event in Rochester scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2026. The event is based at Brown Square Park, directly across from Rochester Animal Services at 184 Verona Street, and includes races, a dog walk, a vaccination clinic, and a pet festival with vendors and activities.
Event features include a race program and family activities:
- 5K race
- 10K race
- 1K Kids Race called the Furry Scurry
- Dog walk one mile
The pet festival will include live music, food trucks, sponsor giveaways, vendors, pet contests, and local pet organizations. A free vaccination clinic on site offers rabies and DAPP vaccines and microchipping on a first come, first served basis. Packet pick-up is available Friday, June 5 at Fleet Feet the Armory (155 Culver Rd) and at the event on Saturday at 184 Verona Street; registrants before May 23 are guaranteed a t-shirt.
Virtual participation options are offered for the 5K, 10K, and dog walk, and items for virtual participants will be mailed after the event. The event does not offer refunds. Awards include store vouchers from Fleet Feet for overall and age group finishers. Fundraising through the event supports Verona Street Animal Society and Rochester Animal Services, with funds used for shelter care, spay and neuter programs, and community pet resources.
