The Farewell See York Run York Challenge is a timed running challenge held on the Turpin Challenge route at York Knavesmire. The event is a 7 hour timed challenge with a strict 7-hour cut-off. It is a lapped course with each lap approximately 4.37 miles. The course is described as undulating and multi-terrain. All finishers receive a bespoke medal and a goody bag. A family fun run is held before the main event on a 1 mile grass loop; parents or friends may run alongside younger participants but must enter separately to receive their own medal.
Logistics, entries and rules
Race HQ is Hamilton Panther's Club House, which offers toilets, changing, showers, and hot drinks and food for sale before and after the event. Free parking is available along Knavesmire Road and Racecourse Road. The event is cupless; participants should bring their own bottle or cup. A staffed aid station will provide refills of water, squash or coke and offer sweets, fruit and savoury snacks. Registration and bib collection take place on the morning of the event. Maximum entrants: 200. Minimum age: 14 years. Entries close 11/04/2026; remaining places listed as 67. Entry fees are £28 (affiliated) and £30 (unattached). No refunds; transfers and deferrals are allowed only up to 7 days before the event, with deferrals subject to available scheduled events.
