FAMpoint5K - The Race for the Rest of Us
FAMpoint5K is a short fundraiser taking place on October 3, 2026 at the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens in Grand Junction, Colorado. The event is organized by Foster Alumni Mentors and includes a playful, donut-focused half kilometer course intended to raise funds and awareness for people impacted by foster care.

Participants may walk, stroll, roll, cheer, stop for a donut, or run; no training or running is required. Check-in and volunteer assistance are available at the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens to help with registration and directions.
The event partners with MavFAM, a Foster Alumni Community student organization at Colorado Mesa University. A portion of funds raised will support MavFAM and Foster Alumni Mentors' work providing connection, stability, and support for young people and adults with foster care experience.
The program includes prize giveaways, a best costume category, a biggest team recognition, photo opportunities, a midway donut station, and a special secret prize revealed during the event. Registration opens July 1, 2026 and closes September 1, 2026. The registration fee is $20. Participants may register individually or as part of a team and may create fundraisers on behalf of the organizing group. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
