Event
The Falling Water Trail Marathon / Half Marathon takes place in Eugenia, Ontario on Saturday, August 8, 2026 and Sunday, August 9, 2026. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and is hosted on the Beaver Valley section of the Bruce Trail. The start and finish for both races are at the Beaver Valley Ski Club.
Distances
- Approximately 42.2 km (trail marathon)
- Approximately 21 km (trail half marathon)
Course and race details
The marathon course has nearly 1600 m of elevation gain and about 1600 m of elevation loss. The half marathon contains close to 1000 m of elevation gain. Much of both courses follows the Bruce Trail mainline, marked with white blazes, with some crossover sections marked with blue blazes; participants are expected to understand how to follow blazes. The route includes rocky, rooty, and very hilly single-track, waterfalls and steep climbs. Poles are permitted. Aid stations are spaced further apart than at some other events, and the race is cup-less so participants must bring a collapsible cup or bottle.
Entry, cutoffs and other logistics
Each distance is limited to 100 participants. A combined option, "The Bruce Deuce," covers both the full and half races; finishers receive two medals and an additional race souvenir and one race kit with two bibs. The marathon has an overall cut-off of 11 hours; the half marathon cut-off is 5.5 hours. The organizer donates CA$20 from each registration to the Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Club.
