Event overview
Falling Water Trail Marathon / Half Marathon takes place in Eugenia, Ontario on August 8 and 9, 2026. The event is based at the Beaver Valley Ski Club and is held on the Beaver Valley section of the Bruce Trail. The event includes these options:
- ~42.2 km trail marathon
- ~21 km trail half marathon
- The Bruce Deuce - completion of both races
Registration is limited to 100 participants per distance. The organizer donates CA$20 from each registration to the Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Club. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. La Sportiva will attend with a demo fleet and giveaways.
Course and race details
Both courses start and finish at the Beaver Valley Ski Club and use mostly the Main Trail of the Bruce Trail. The marathon has nearly 1600 m of elevation gain and about 1600 m of loss; the half marathon has close to 1000 m of elevation gain. Trails are rocky, rooty, and very hilly. Course marking uses white blazes for the main route and blue blazes on crossover trails; additional orange flags and ribbons are used sparingly. Poles are permitted. The event is not a Boston Qualifier.
Aid stations are spaced farther apart due to limited access. The race is cup-less; participants must bring a collapsible cup or bottle for aid stations.
