Falling Water Trail Marathon / Half Marathon - Eugenia, ON
The event takes place on the Beaver Valley section of the Bruce Trail, starting and finishing at the Beaver Valley Ski Club. It is named after the Falling Water section of the trail and is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario.
Available distances:
- Trail Marathon : approximately 42 km
- Trail Half Marathon : approximately 21 km
- The Bruce Deuce : complete both races, receive two medals and an extra souvenir
Most of the course is single-track trail, marked with white blazes on the main route and blue blazes on crossover trails. The terrain is rocky, rooty, and very hilly. The marathon has about 1600 m of elevation gain and 1600 m of elevation loss; the half marathon has close to 1000 m of gain. Aid stations are farther apart due to limited access. The event is cup-less; participants must bring a collapsible cup or bottle.
Entry is limited to 100 participants per distance. Twenty dollars from each registration will be donated to the Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Club. Race kits will include gels provided by THN Labs (maple syrup, tahini, sea salt, rowanberry extract). La Sportiva will offer a demo shoe fleet and giveaways.
Time limits: marathon 11 hours with rolling cutoffs at intermediate aid stations; half marathon 5.5 hours. Refunds are issued as 100% race credit if requested more than 30 days before the event; cancellations within 30 days are not accommodated, but bib transfers are allowed.
