Event overview
The Falling Water Trail Marathon / Half Marathon takes place in Eugenia, Ontario on August 8 and 9, 2026. Distances offered:
- approximately 42 km (trail marathon)
- approximately 21 km (trail half marathon)
Each distance is limited to 100 participants. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. There is an option called The Bruce Deuce to run both the full marathon and the half marathon on consecutive days; participants who complete both receive two medals and an additional race souvenir. The organizer donates CA$20 from each registration to the Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Club.
Course and race details
Both races start and finish at the Beaver Valley Ski Club and use the Beaver Valley section of the Bruce Trail. The marathon and half follow mostly single-track and main-trail routes marked with white and blue blazes, plus additional orange flags and ribbons. The terrain is rocky, rooty, and very hilly. Poles are permitted for the marathon. The marathon route has nearly 1600 m of elevation gain and about 1600 m of elevation loss; the half has close to 1000 m of elevation gain.
Aid stations are spaced farther apart than at many events because of limited access. The marathon has a rolling cutoff with an overall finish cutoff of 11 hours; the half-marathon cutoff is 5.5 hours. The event is cup-less, so runners must bring a collapsible cup or bottles. Race swag for 2026 includes a race shirt. Refunds and transfers follow the organizer’s published policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
