The Devil's Key 2026 : event description
The event takes place on August 22, 2026 at Devil's Glen Country Club in Duntroon, Ontario, Canada. The race is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and organized by Happy Trails Racing. The route follows the Bruce Trail for most of its length with short sections on side trails marked with blue blazes.
Three distances are offered:
- 66.6 km with close to 6000 feet of cumulative climbing.
- 33.3 km with around 2500 feet of elevation gain.
- 16.66 km with close to 1200 feet of elevation gain.
Course features include a climb of the Devil's Glen ski hill, crawling through the "keyhole" on the Keyhole Side Trail, running alongside the Mad River, and climbs through Pretty River Valley Provincial Park to the Bruce Trail high point on the 66.6 km route. The 66.6 km course includes four major climbs and many medium climbs. Aid stations are placed less than 10 km apart and provide electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, pickles, pb and j, and gels supplied by THN Labs. The event is cup-less; participants must carry a collapsible cup or bottle.
The race kit includes a bib, sticker, shirt, a Skeleton Key that must be carried and shown during the race, race photos, and a finisher medal. Twenty dollars from each registration is donated to the Blue Mountains Bruce Trail Club. La Sportiva will attend with a demo shoe fleet and will give away two pairs of shoes.
