The Devil's Key 2026
The Devil's Key is a trail running event at Devil's Glen Country Club on the Bruce Trail near Duntroon, Ontario, held on August 22, 2026. The event is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario and supports the Blue Mountains Bruce Trail Club; CAD 20 from each registration goes directly to the club.
Most of the course runs on the Bruce Trail with some short sections on side trails with blue blazes. Notable route features include a climb to the top of the Devil's Glen ski hill, running alongside the Mad River, and a required crawl through the "keyhole" on the Keyhole Side Trail. Aid stations are positioned less than 10 km apart and offer electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, pickles, and peanut butter and jelly; the event is cup-less so participants must carry a collapsible cup or bottle.
Race kit items listed for participants include a bib, sticker, softspun race shirt available in unisex or women’s cut, a Skeleton Key that must be carried and shown during the race, finishers' medal, and race photos. Sponsors for the event include La Sportiva with a demo shoe fleet and a giveaway, and THN Labs supplying race gels made from maple syrup, tahini, sea salt, and rowanberry extract.
