The Devil's Key 2026
The event takes place on the Bruce Trail around Devil's Glen Country Club in Duntroon, Ontario on August 22, 2026. It offers three trail race distances with significant elevation and technical sections.
- 66.6 km: close to 6000 feet of cumulative climbing.
- 33.3 km: around 2500 feet of elevation gain.
- 16.66 km: roughly 1200 feet of elevation gain.
The course runs entirely on the Bruce Trail with short sections on Side Trails with blue blazes. Notable features include the Devil's Glen ski hill climb, four major climbs, a literal crawl through the "keyhole" on the Keyhole Side Trail, stretches alongside the Mad River, and ascent into Pretty River Valley Provincial Park reaching the highest point on the Bruce Trail in this area.
Aid stations are spaced less than 10 km apart and provide electrolyte drinks, salty and sweet snacks, pickles, and peanut butter and jam. The event is cup-less so participants must carry a collapsible cup or bottle. Each registration donates 20 CAD to the Blue Mountains Bruce Trail Club. The race is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. Race kits include a bib, sticker, shirt, a Skeleton Key that must be carried and shown during the race, a finisher medal, and race photos. THN Labs supplies gels in kits and at aid stations.
