Event Overview

The Fall Equinox is a running event held in Fort Collins, Colorado. The main event weekend spans several days in late September. Runners experience a point-to-point course that features downhill running through scenic canyons.

Distances and Courses

The event offers three main distances:

  • Marathon: A course described as "Beautifully Brutal," limited to 300 runners. The route runs through the Buckhorn and Poudre River Canyons, with the first five miles noted as hilly, followed by approximately 21 miles of downhill.
  • Half Marathon: Called the "Wild & Scenic Half Marathon," this course starts at the Mishawaka Amphitheater and runs along the Cache la Poudre River, Colorado's only designated Wild and Scenic River.
  • 5 Mile: A race distance positioned as an option for runners or walkers.
