First Annual Fairy Stone 5K
The Friends of Fairy Stone State Park will hold the First Annual Fairy Stone 5K on October 3, 2026, at Fairy Stone State Park, 967 Fairystone Lake Dr., Stuart, VA 24171. The event will proceed rain or shine.
The event features a paved course through the state park with rolling hills. Participants are invited to wear fairy costumes. The program includes two event types: a 5K run/walk and a separate 5K ruck.
Registration details vary by event. The run/walk registration opens July 23, 2026, and the ruck registration opens August 4, 2026; both close on September 5, 2026. Early registration fee is $25; the fee after September 5, 2026 is $30. Registration is free for students from Pre K through college. Registrations made by September 5, 2026 are eligible for a guaranteed event T-shirt.
Packet pickup and late registration will take place in the upper beach parking lot on October 2, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and will continue on October 3, 2026 from 7:00 am to 8:30 am. The Factory Roast mobile coffee truck will be on site during event activities.
Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers overall, to the top three male and female finishers in ten-year age groups, and to the first three male and female finishers in the rucking category. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
