Event Overview
The Fairmont Triathlon is a multi-day event featuring a youth triathlon and several events for adults. The events take place in Fairmont, Minnesota. The youth event is held at the Fairmont Aquatic Park, while the adult Sprint Triathlon and Bacon Run 5K are based at Gomsrud Park.
Events and Distances
- Youth Triathlon: Open to ages 5–15. The distances vary by age group, with pool swims and shorter bike and run segments.
- Sprint Triathlon: Consists of a 0.25 mile open water swim, a 20k bike on flat county roads, and a 5k run through residential areas.
- Bacon Run 5K: A standalone 5k running event.
- Sprint Team Triathlon: A relay option for the Sprint Triathlon where teams of 2 or 3 people can participate.
Additional Information
Packet pickup for the Sprint and 5K events is at the Gomsrud Park Picnic Shelter. Registrations received by a specified date are guaranteed a t-shirt in the requested size. All youth participants receive ribbons and t-shirts. In the Sprint Triathlon, medals are awarded to the top two finishers in each age category, and trophies go to the top three overall male and female finishers.
