About the race
The Fairchance Construction Octoberfest event in Uniontown, PA combines a community 5K with several beer mile formats and a children’s root beer run. Net proceeds benefit the Uniontown Area High School track team.
Race offerings include multiple distance and team formats:
- 5K Run and Walk
- 1 mile Mom Maruca Beer Mile, ages 21 and over
- 4 x 1/4 mile Beer Mile Relay, one beer per leg
- 1/2 mile Kids Root Beer Run, for ages 14 and under
- Team of 4 Corporate Beer Mile Relay
- 5K plus Beer Mile combo event
The event will award top finishers and age group places for the 5K, top three male and female Beer Mile finishers, and top three relay teams. The corporate relay will receive separate recognition and race day promotion. Beer Mile entrants must be 21 years old, present proper ID, and those running the full Beer Mile are required to have a designated driver; relay participants are not subject to the designated driver requirement. An 8 ounce Athena pour is offered for women in the beer mile.
Other event details include a souvenir root beer mug for children in the kids run, a prize for best Bavarian or Octoberfest costume, guaranteed T shirts for timely registrants, and a high quality beer glass for the first 200 entrants.
