Thistlethwaite Haunted Wine Run 5K
The event is a chip timed 5k run and walk held at Thistlethwaite Vineyards in Jefferson, Pennsylvania. The course is a two loop layout that is mostly cross country style and includes grass, dirt, and uneven areas; race day conditions may require a route change. The organizer notes the course may not be suitable for personal best times.
Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible portable wine glass, a finisher medal, a race bib with chip timing, results posted online, and a pour of wine at the finish. Packet pickup takes place on race day and opens one hour before the event.
Age group awards are offered for the top three finishers in ten year categories: 19 and under, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, 70 to 79, and 80 and over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards. Age group medals are available for pickup on the day of the event and will not be shipped.
The local charity partner is the Humane Society of Greene County, PA, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that relies on donations to care for homeless and abused animals. Walking is allowed. Minors may participate with a discounted registration that includes shirt, medal, and bib but not a wine glass or wine. Strollers are permitted but not recommended due to uneven ground. Dogs are not allowed on site because USDA rules prohibit them on the farm. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
