FACTS 5K
FACTS 5K is an annual fundraising run/walk held at FDR Park, 20th & Pattison Street Entrance, Leith, Scotland. Funds raised support special activities, programs, and equipment for the school community, including new lion heads for celebrations, additional chromebooks and scientific calculators, visits from African American storytellers, an expanded library of diverse books, and new music room instruments and risers.
The event includes a youth 50-yard dash and both running and walking options. The full 5K is two loops of the course; walkers may choose to complete only one loop, about 1.5 miles.

Each participant receives a unique race bib that must be worn on the front of the shirt using the provided pins; lost bibs will not be reissued. Runners are asked to line up near the front, walkers toward the back, and strollers behind all runners and walkers. Strollers are permitted; bicycles and scooters are not. Staff will ride bicycles to provide event security and updates. Dogs are not permitted. Water will be available during and after the event, and fresh fruit and snacks will be provided near the finish. Medals will be awarded to the top five kid finishers and the top five adult finishers, and prizes will be given for largest team, best costume, youngest participant, and school spirit.
