F3 Naperville 5K Run & Walk for Little Friends
The event is the eighth annual 5K run and walk organized by F3 Naperville to benefit Little Friends, an organization that provides resources for individuals and families affected by autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The primary race uses a USATF certified 5K course located on the trails of the St. James Farm property in Warrenville, IL. The course follows an undulating crushed limestone path through prairie and woods on a looped route, with views of horse barns near the beginning and end of the loop.
The event program includes a short kids race for children age nine and younger on a custom 0.4 mile course, with a policy that participants age ten and older must register for the 5K. Registrations before August 22 are guaranteed a limited edition F3 5K t-shirt; shirts are sized in Men, Women, and Kid sizes. The event notes that 100 percent of proceeds benefit Little Friends and that registrations are tax deductible. On-site amenities described by the organizer include free parking adjacent to the start and finish at the special use entrance to St. James Farm, volunteers assisting with parking, morning concessions including a Kona Ice truck offering a free crushed ice cup for each child, and pre-event bib and shirt pickup at the Naperville Running Store (South Location) on Saturday, September 20.
