The EXPO 10K and 5K is an annual running event in Knoxville that includes a Kids 1 Mile, a 5K, a 10K, and a virtual 5K option. The virtual option allows participants to run 5K or 10K anywhere while supporting the event.
Distances:
- Kids 1 Mile
- 5K
- 10K
- 5K Virtual
The road course begins in front of Crafty Bastard on Central Avenue, follows Magnolia, Gay Street, and Jackson, then returns along Central to Neyland Drive for an out and back layout. The 10K extends further out Neyland Drive before returning on the same route. Participants in the 10K must be able to finish within one hour and forty minutes after the last runner starts.
Registration fees vary by registration period. Early, late, and race day pricing are applied with different rates for the 10K, 5K, and Kids Mile. Entry terms state no refunds and no bib transfers; coupon and discount use is restricted at checkout.
T-shirts are short-sleeved unisex. Registrants after May 10 receive shirts while supplies last; the shirt order is placed in mid May and no reorders are made once inventory is exhausted.
Awards are given to the top three overall, age group divisions starting with 14 and under then five year increments, and to specialty family team categories including mother/son, mother/daughter, father/son, father/daughter, husband/wife, and three generations. Masters and grandmasters categories are recognized by age. Grand Prix team points apply and require club membership plus volunteer service to be eligible.
Light refreshments are provided after the races and Crafty Bastard will be open for post race drinks. Roller blades, strollers, bicycles, and dogs are not allowed on course and headphones are discouraged. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
