Exeter Elementary PTO Get Fit In May
The Exeter Elementary PTO is organizing the 28th Annual Get Fit In May event in Exeter, New Hampshire. This community fundraiser supports school programs and initiatives for Lincoln Street Elementary School, including classroom technology, field trip transportation, and music and art enrichment. The event takes place at Lincoln Street Elementary School and features multiple running options for different age groups and skill levels.
Participants can choose from several distances:
- 5K run or fitness walk for adults and students.
- 1 mile untimed fun run for students in grades 3-5.
- 1/2 mile untimed fun run for students in grades K-2.
The event includes a team competition for students, where the grade level with the highest number of registrants receives a prize. Cash awards are provided for the top male, female, and non-binary runners in the 5K category. Additionally, the event features age group awards in five-year increments ranging from under 10 to 90 and older.
Endorsed by the New England 65 Plus Runners Club, the event offers a registration discount for participants aged 65 and older. Participants who register before the middle of April are guaranteed an event t-shirt. On the morning of the event, physical education teachers lead warm-up sessions for the fun run participants inside the school gymnasium.
