About the race
The Exe Estuary events in Budleigh Salterton on Sunday 13th June 2027 offer three measured race options on multi‑terrain routes in East Devon.
- 50k
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
Routes combine South West Coast Path sections, estuary paths, riverside trails and country lanes. The event starts and finishes by the beach at Budleigh Salterton. The 50k begins with a 5 mile loop of the River Otter before joining the marathon route. The marathon is an out and back that includes South West Coast Path trails and follows the Exe Estuary to Topsham and back to the finish. The half marathon is mainly trail, includes the 5 mile River Otter loop and an out and back on the coast path with a turning point at Orcombe Point Aid Station in Exmouth.
Aid stations are fully stocked and routes are marshalled and marked. The 50k has 6 aid stations and about 2,100 ft of ascent. The marathon has 5 aid stations and about 1,900 ft of ascent. The half marathon has 2 aid stations and about 1,400 ft of ascent.
All finishers receive a bespoke Exe Estuary metal medal and ice cream. An optional event T shirt is available for £12. Entry fees vary by distance and affiliation status. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
