About the race
The Exe Estuary events take place on Sunday 13th June 2027 in Budleigh Salterton, East Devon. The event offers multi terrain routes that use coast path, riverside trails, country lanes and estuary paths.
Distances available:
- 50k: 5 mile River Otter loop then joins the marathon out-and-back.
- Marathon: out-and-back on South West Coast Path then up the Exe Estuary to Topsham.
- Half Marathon: mainly trail, includes the 5 mile River Otter loop and coast path out-and-back, turning at Orcombe Point aid station in Exmouth.
The start and finish are by the beach at Budleigh Salterton. Routes are fully marked and marshalled, and aid stations are described as well stocked. All finishers receive a bespoke "Exe Estuary" metal medal. An optional event T-shirt is available.
Route descriptions note the 50k begins with a loop of the River Otter before joining the marathon route; the marathon follows South West Coast Path trails and proceeds along the Exe Estuary to Topsham and back; the half marathon turns at the Orcombe Point aid station in Exmouth.
