Event overview
EXCLAMATION 5.0 is a Last Runner Standing race held in Roxton, Texas. The format uses repeating 5-mile out-and-back laps called "Exclamations." New Exclamations start every hour on the hour and each Exclamation must be completed within one hour. Attempts continue until one runner remains; ties are not allowed.

Course and location
The start and finish are at the Chaparral Museum, across from the Roxton Community Center (104 Harrison Ave., Roxton, TX 75477). The course is designed to form the shape of an exclamation mark; it runs on a re-purposed track with railroad ties alongside parts of the route. Restrooms are available at the museum/start/finish.
Rules, logistics, and awards
Aid stations offer limited snacks and drinks such as water, soda, electrolyte product, chips, candy, and fruit; runners are advised to carry their own fuel and hydration. No aid is allowed during an Exclamation; assistance is permitted only at the start/finish. Pacers, crew, family, and pets are allowed but must follow the same rules and respect Quiet Hours from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Leave-no-trace and parking rules apply. A liability waiver is required; participants under 18 need a parent or guardian waiver.
Awards include a Lone Wolf prize of 25% of registration and a prize for the fastest fifth Exclamation (a $75 gift card). Age-based awards are given for youth and masters competitors. Recommended gear includes a sports watch, small vest or handheld bottle, headlamp, sun protection, rain gear, and a cell phone for emergencies.
