Veterans Day Catalina State Park Trail Races
The event on November 8, 2026 takes place at Catalina State Park in Tucson, Arizona and offers these distances:
- 10.6 mile
- 5.3 mile
- 5K
The 10.6 mile and 5.3 mile courses start and finish at the park main parking lot. Both use the Birding Trail, Canyon Loop, Romero out-and-back, and the Nature Trail; 10.6 mile entrants complete two loops of the course. Course navigation is by signs, orange ribbon, pin flags and course marshals. Participants are asked not to run up or down washes and to heed marshals in areas with traffic.
The 5K is a flat out and back on the park’s main roads with no cars on course; runners must use the north coned shoulder on the main road. Water is limited on course; all participants should carry their own water. There are water stations before the Nature Trail and at the finish area, and one water stop on the 5K that can be used in both directions. Bottles taken at aid stations are the participant’s responsibility; no littering is allowed.
Packet pickup is available at Fleet Feet in Oro Valley and on race day at Catalina State Park. Parking is in the main lot and on road shoulders; purchasing a one-day park entry pass through registration or packet pickup is recommended.
