Every Step Counts Autism Walk & 5K Run
Every Step Counts is a community event on October 3, 2026 at Centennial Park in Ellicott City, Maryland. It brings together individuals, families, and community partners to raise funds for the Autism Society of Maryland and to highlight local programs and services.
The event offers multiple participation options:
- 5K Run: Timed 5K around Centennial Lake with awards for male, female and nonbinary finishers
- 4K Walk: Walk around Centennial Lake
- 1K Stroll: Short walk option
The event village and resource fair will feature staff, sponsors, exhibitors and vendors. Family-oriented activities include an inflatable obstacle course, roving performers, face painters, bubble artists and costumed characters. A mobile clinic hosted by Giant Food Pharmacy will be available on site. Children age 10 and under may participate free of charge when registered and eligible to receive a t-shirt.
Registrations open May 29, 2026 and close October 2, 2026. Published registration fees are $35 for the 5K and $25 for the 4K and 1K options. Fundraising supports the Autism Society of Maryland's free programs and services, including support groups, education, advocacy and social events.
