Event overview
The York 5K on 10 April 2026 is held at the University of York Sport Village Cycle Circuit. The event is part of a monthly series that runs from February to November on the same circuit. The course is flat and consists of 5 kilometres completed over five laps. The entry limit is 200 places and, at the time of listing, all 200 places remain available.
Course, timing and facilities
The race is chip-timed. Results are sent by text as runners cross the finish line and kilometre splits are published the next day. A chocolate bar is handed out at the finish. The race is suitable for wheelchairs. On-course and venue facilities include water stations, distance markers and toilets. There are no changing rooms, showers or baggage storage at the venue. Entry, fees and policies
Entry opens at 10:00 on 5 December 2025 and online entry closes on race day. Entry on the day is not available. Single-race fees are listed as £10.00 (affiliated) and £12.00 (unaffiliated). A multi-race York Race Pass (April–November) is offered at £57.00 (affiliated) and £69.00 (unaffiliated). First-time entrants are issued a race number with an embedded timing chip that can be used at York and Leeds events; previously issued red 5K numbers may be reused if recorded on the entry form. Entrants are entitled to one free number replacement in a 12-month period; further replacements cost £4. A place may be deferred once to the next available race in the calendar year if requested at least three days before race day. There are no refunds and places cannot be transferred.
